AAYK Football Club successfully sealed qualification for the Osun State Playoffs of the 2026 Nationwide League One (NLO) after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over fellow title contenders Hammola FC in a winner-takes-all encounter at the Oduduwa College Centre, Ile-Ife.

The decisive victory capped an outstanding regular season campaign for AAYK FC, who finished the competition with seven consecutive victories and an unbeaten record, securing top spot at the Oduduwa Centre.
Heading into the final day, the stakes could not have been higher. While Hammola FC required only a draw to progress on goal difference, AAYK FC knew that nothing short of victory would secure qualification. The players responded magnificently, producing a disciplined, determined, and courageous performance when it mattered most.

AAYK FC nearly found an early breakthrough in the 10th minute when in-form striker Makinde Iyanuoluwa connected well inside the penalty area, only to be denied by an excellent save from the Hammola goalkeeper.
